I realize there might be a smidgen of irony in the title of this post, but for those who remember at all my claim about four months prior to now that I would write a blog about the motion picture Silence, directed by Martin Scorsese, I wanted to assure you that I am, actually, still going to write a personal take on the film. 

Why I have not yet done this comes down to the fact that although I bought it almost a month ago and have viewed it… I really don’t want to watch it again. Watching someone so sure in his faith falter and betray himself and his Savior in the last moments is something I really only wanted to see that one time. No, actually, I hated that I had to watch it.

I know many have seen this movie played out in front of their eyes countless times.

I will write something soon.

• If you would, please pray for me as I continue to grapple with, ponder, 思考, and cry over this film and the heavy question that everyone must ask themselves: What do I want to do, faced with this character’s situation? 
• Please pray for those facing persecution around the world to stay strong, be brave, and to follow the Spirit through “life” into Life, if you can follow. Pray that they would know that God is never dependent on one person to save his own creation; he has done that Himself.
