New Update on How To Pray For Skye!

Please pray for Gale (pictured above) and her husband Lucas, as they transition from busy city life in Taipei, Taiwan to small town Montana life in the US.

Here are the other prayer requests, see below for the answers from last month. Thank you so much for your prayers! They are doing things, really! Go to How To Pray For Skye to see other prayer requests and answers from the past.

7-11-18 July’s Prayer Requests: (If you ever have a question about something, please don’t hesitate to email/message me!) You guys Rock!!! Thank you so much for praying! Go back and read the red sentences to see the answers God has provided to the past prayer requests! 🙂

  1. In July we have already had one team from the States and just today, the second of four teams in July landed. Praise God for keeping them safe as they traveled. Please pray for the upcoming three weeks, as the next three teams’ stays here will overlap. Pray for us at Envision:Taipei to stay rested and secure in the Love of Christ, our Vine. Pray that we all work from a place of intimacy, not a God-complex or a drive to be “busy for the Kingdom” that doesn’t stem from God alone.
  2. Same as last month, please also pray for me and the other interns as we lead the teams and teach them things like what spiritual warfare is and how the gospel is understood in a different way in Asia. You can pray for Jesse, the Envision coordinator, and intern/residents Levi W, Michael G, Nathan C, Jay W, and Andrew W.
  3. Please pray for the family that I live with. Pray for both parents to live for God, not themselves nor each other. Pray for them to lay down pride and take up the cross of our humble Savior.
  4. Please pray for Lucas and Gale Baumann, a couple that just moved to the USA. Please pray for a smooth transition, especially for Gale as she is Thai and has never lived in the States before. Pray that they can both adapt to the language, the food, and the culture at large in a healthy way, no matter how long it takes.
  5. This summer, we have a new goal at Aroma: make 2160 Gospel Connections before the end of the summer. That seems like a big goal, but maybe it isn’t. It’s 30 conversations per day, that lead back to something Jesus is doing, has done, or will do, and there are a lot more than 30 people in our church. Please pray for people to be bold and go for it!
  6. Please keep praying for my friend “L” who is battling a huge amount of confusion about his identity and his place in God’s family, and please pray for his girlfriend. L is struggling with homosexual thoughts and he needs our prayers. He has been with his girlfriend for over 8 years. Pray that he sees his need for God’s love and power to make him whole and help him live his life the way it was meant to be lived. Please stop to pray for all countries who have legalized same-sex marriage, for the media, and for those you know who think that their feelings and what they see as their identity is their God. Thank you~
  7. There is one friend I really want to make amends with before I leave Taiwan. Please pray for God’s blessing in our friendship and for it to be natural and full of Christ. Thank you so much!

5-31-18 June’s Prayer Requests: (If you ever have a question about something, please don’t hesitate to email/message me!) You guys Rock!!! Thank you so much for praying! Go back and read the red sentences to see the answers God has provided to the past prayer requests! 🙂

  1. Aroma is hosting about 10 short term missions teams this summer (one team from Simpson University already came and left this May!)! Please pray for each team to come prepared to serve Christ, stay healthy and safe during their travels and time here, and be alert to what the Spirit is leading them to do and learn while in Taipei. They will be doing a lot of outreaches like VBS and ‘treasure hunts’ (Spirit-led prayer walks), hosting events at Aroma like game nights and worship nights, and many other things. Pray for the Kingdom to come powerfully through the teams! The teams have all been awesome so far! They have been so willing to learn and so loving to those they connect with. Pray for God’s heart to be seen by the Taiwanese through them!
  2. Please also pray for me and the other interns as we lead the teams and teach them things like what spiritual warfare is and how the gospel is understood in a different way in Asia. You can pray for Jesse, the Envision coordinator, and intern/residents Levi W, Michael G, Nathan C, Jay W, and Andrew W. Thank you for praying! Keep praying for this, since it will be a big month in July.
  3. Please pray for the family that I live with, for provision for some needs they have and for God’s grace to see them through! 🙂 Persistence, humility, and all-eyes-on-Christ is what we need. Thank you for your prayers– they are sustaining us. Keep praying, please!!
  4. On June 4th, I will begin my last semester at the Chinese language school I attend named the Mandarin Training Center (MTC) at National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU). Please pray for just the right times with my classmates and teacher, and for a great harvest as I finish up my time at the school. After the term ends in August, I will continue studying on my own, so you can pray for good aptitude while I do my final time at the MTC. I have been blown away by the amount of opportunities and the attention that not only my classmates, but also my teacher, have given to me during normal conversation to share the Gospel. Thank you for praying! Two months left!
  5. Please pray for Aroma’s future: we are running out of space as a church, and are looking to God for what direction to take. We have returned to doing only one service per week to make lighter work, so please pray for God to direct people to the right place for them to be, whether that is at Aroma, or to go out to other churches to positively affect other churches in Taiwan. The one service has been a blessing so far. Thank you for your prayers. Please pray for us to reach 2160 people with the gospel before the end of the summer!
  6. Please pray for pastor Chris and Jamie O’Dell and their two boys as they spend this summer in America for a furlough. Please pray for them to let God do good work and leave everything in His hands this summer as many important changes and decisions are bound to be made in their absence. Please also pray for them to maintain good communication in a healthy way, in whatever capacity that is, with us here in Taiwan. Also, please pray for rest for them and good connections with their supporters, family, and friends. It can be difficult to return to a place that is called your “home,” but in which you feel like the foreigner. Thank you for your prayers. I have seen better healthy communication (i.e. not sending emails to our team in what would be the middle of the night in the US) from the pastor. Please keep praying for their time there, especially for the kids.
  7. Thank you~ I haven’t heard word about L. from my friend for a while. Please pray for her spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental health as she mourns the loss of her boyfriend. Pray for me and her other friends as we point her to Jesus and encourage her as we hear from the Lord. Love never fails.
